About

A film by Melissa Morales

Hi, I am Melissa Morales, and I am the writer and director of Little Bear. I am a NYC based Latina Puerto Rican filmmaker.  I have worked on over 25+ sets as of 2022, ranging from short films, pilots, and fashion shows in different crew roles; including being a 1st AD, Producer, Creative Director and Production Designer.  My main passion comes from directing my own screenplays; I have directed four short films; which have been selected in over 20 film festivals, and won several awards including “Best Female Filmmaker” and “Best Horror Film”. They have screened in various venues & theaters across NYC. What I most enjoy doing is making films that shine a light on the underrepresented voices and communities in the entertainment industry.

ABOUT

"On the night of Sarah's Halloween party, a haunting presence and a lost possession trigger a nightmarish clash between her past and present."

THE

FILM

Little Bear is a thriller/horror multigenre short film revolving around a Halloween party and a masked killer. The film will tackle important matters of assault and stalking. Which is becoming all too common in society. It also explores the underlying connections of sisterhood.

It is a female-driven script that contains sociological and psychological themes of identity and struggle, with at its core being about memories and transformation of shared experiences. The creatives of this film will feature a diverse cast and crew to collaborate on this project. Being avid lovers of Halloween, we intend to create a thriller that pays homage to the festivity, as well as reflecting upon heavy subject matters of our world.
